Mold Release

Processing PET in injection molding presents challenges due to its amorphous and sticky nature. Additionally, PET typically lacks pre-added release agents. SUKANO® Mold Release masterbatches used in injection molding reduce demolding force and improve filling of the cavity. The active ingredient acts as internal lubricant, reducing filling pressure to ease filling the cavity and as an external lubricant to reduce adhesion of the hot polymer to the metal surface in the cavity.

With SUKANO® Mold Release masterbatches, you gain PET as an alternative, recyclable polymer for injection molding applications.

Lubrification improves your products’ surface finish and enables continuous running of the machine during production – resulting in reduced cycle times and improved flow and dispersion of the filled polymer. 

Slip/Antiblock

PET's stickiness poses challenges in film handling and downstream processing, leading to friction issues and potential challenges during production. With Sukano, you benefit from 35+ years of experience and expertise in Slip/Antiblock masterbatches to overcome such challenges in the production processes.

The SUKANO® Slip/Antiblock Masterbatch improves surface roughness and slip properties to reduce adhesion between film and sheet surfaces in polyesters and copolyesters, polyolefins, and biopolymers. This offers lower coefficient of friction (COF) for processing of films and cut sheets during extrusion and secondary processing steps. 

The different Antiblock and Slip combinations ensure smooth film-handling such as winding and unwinding of amorphous or oriented films and improve denesting of thermoformed parts. It maintains surface tension, allowing good printability in post-processing.

Mobility Aid

PET's inherent stickiness can lead to significant bottle-to-bottle adhesion, causing potential line blockages and production inefficiencies. With SUKANO® Mobility Aid masterbatches, you gain an easy and efficient solution to reduce the bottle-to-bottle stickiness for ISBM PET transparent bottles. As a consequence, you will reduce or even prevent blockage of the containers in filling lines and, therefore, maximize your production speed. It is suitable for existing ISBM production equipment as well as any conveyor belt system.

The masterbatch is immediately activated after preform production, improving mold release during preform molding. Engineered to preserve material clarity with minimal impact on haze, it is well suited for clear, translucent, and transparent colored bottles for beverages, household or personal care containers.

The reduction of bottle-to-bottle coefficient of friction (COF) and surface energy leads to higher productivity and yields in filling lines. With our masterbatch solution, you eliminate the need for spray coatings and the risk of contamination.
